Difference between Coin and Token

Cryptocurrencies can be classified into two categories: Coin or Token.
The terms are often used interchangeably, however they are not the same.
XDAG is a Coin on its own blockchain; WXDAG is a ERC20 Token exsiting on different ETH based blockchains.
